How to Connect Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning to Tuya

Connect compatible Mitsubishi Electric CN105 indoor units to Tuya Smart or Smart Life with AcmeLink ME: 2.4 GHz WiFi, model checks and setup guidance.

This article describes setup of the WiFi configuration. ME also offers the configurations listed below; WiFi pairing instructions do not apply to Zigbee or Modbus-only units.

What AcmeLink ME connects

AcmeLink ME connects to the CN105 port on a compatible Mitsubishi Electric indoor-unit control board. CN105 carries the unit-side communication and power. The module connects through 2.4 GHz WiFi to provide Tuya Smart / Smart Life app control. CN105 is the physical indoor-unit interface; WiFi is the wireless connection; Tuya Smart and Smart Life are the apps.

The listed app functions include power, operating mode, target temperature, fan speed, schedules and supported status synchronization. Available functions depend on the confirmed indoor unit and configuration.

Confirm the indoor unit before ordering

The AcmeLink ME product page lists selected PEFY, PEY and SEZ models. A Mitsubishi Electric brand label or the presence of CN105 alone is not a compatibility guarantee. Send the full model including its suffix, a clear connector photo and the existing controller model for confirmation.

Plan the connection and app setup

  1. Obtain confirmation of the indoor-unit model, CN105 connection and existing controller arrangement.
  2. Provide 2.4 GHz WiFi coverage at the module's installation position.
  3. Have a qualified installer isolate power and connect the module at the confirmed indoor-unit CN105 port according to the product manual.
  4. Restore power, then follow the manual's reset, indicator and Tuya Smart / Smart Life pairing instructions.
  5. Test supported power, mode, temperature and fan commands, app status and original-controller operation before a wider rollout.

On compatible installations the module receives power from CN105 and does not require a separate power adapter. Original-controller retention must be checked against the actual controller and unit configuration.

Choose an ME configuration

Available ME configurations are WiFi, Zigbee, Modbus, WiFi + Modbus and Zigbee + Modbus. WiFi + Zigbee and WiFi + Zigbee + Modbus are not supported.

ConfigurationWireless optionAdditional RS485 wiring
WiFiTuya WiFi moduleNone
ZigbeeTuya Zigbee moduleNone
ModbusNoneA/B
WiFi + ModbusTuya WiFi moduleA/B
Zigbee + ModbusTuya Zigbee moduleA/B

WiFi and Zigbee versions use the same wiring but different Tuya modules. Modbus configurations add two RS485 communication wires, A and B, to the indoor-unit connection. Specify the required configuration before ordering; these options do not mean one supplied unit includes every protocol or can switch between WiFi and Zigbee through a software setting.

For Modbus integration, request the register map and serial communication settings for the ordered configuration. Confirm compatibility with the intended controller or BMS. For a Zigbee order, confirm the required Tuya gateway and pairing arrangement before installation.

Common buyer questions

Does AcmeLink ME use WiFi or Zigbee?

Available ME configurations are WiFi, Zigbee, Modbus, WiFi + Modbus and Zigbee + Modbus. WiFi + Zigbee and WiFi + Zigbee + Modbus are not supported. WiFi and Zigbee use different Tuya modules; select the required version when ordering.

Does a CN105 connector guarantee compatibility?

No. Confirm the complete Mitsubishi Electric indoor-unit model and suffix as well as the CN105 connector before ordering. Selected PEFY, PEY and SEZ models are listed on the ME product page.

Does AcmeLink ME need a separate power adapter?

A compatible CN105 interface supplies power and communication, so no separate power adapter is required.

Is AcmeLink ME a Modbus or BMS gateway?

ME supports Modbus-only, WiFi + Modbus and Zigbee + Modbus configurations. These add RS485 A/B communication wires. Confirm the register map, serial settings and target controller before BMS integration.

Can the original controller stay in use?

The ME product materials describe retaining the original controller on compatible installations. Confirm the existing controller model and indoor-unit configuration before installation.
