FCU Control
FCU Thermostat Selection Guide for Hotels and Offices
Learn how to choose fan coil thermostats for 2-pipe, 4-pipe, valve control, 0-10V fan output and hotel or office HVAC projects.
Start With The Fan Coil System Type
FCU thermostat selection depends on whether the project uses 2-pipe or 4-pipe fan coil units, two-line valve or three-line valve control, and whether the fan requires relay speed control or 0-10V output.
Choose Protocol And Control Output
Hotel and office projects may need WiFi, Zigbee, Modbus, 0-10V fan output or valve output. These requirements should be confirmed before panel selection because the same front design can represent different control versions.
Confirm the wiring diagram for the selected FCU version
Before ordering, send the fan coil model, valve or actuator specification and a photograph of the existing controller terminals. Request the wiring diagram for the exact thermostat version and confirm the supply voltage, valve connections and fan-control output. A diagram for a similar-looking panel is not a substitute for the correct model documentation.
Have a qualified installer check the confirmed diagram against the actual equipment before installation. For sample acceptance, test the supported heating or cooling operation, valve response and fan control. Record any project-specific requirements before approving the production version.

Common buyer questions
What is the difference between FCU and VRF thermostats?
FCU thermostats control fan coil units, valves and fan outputs, while VRF thermostats communicate with brand-specific VRF air conditioner systems.
Do FCU projects need wiring confirmation?
Yes. The pipe type, valve type and fan output must be confirmed before choosing the SKU.
